Turn Year-End Giving into Local Impact

Year-end giving gives individuals and businesses a chance to support the communities they care about while making thoughtful financial decisions. The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) will host a free virtual webinar, Finish the Year with Impact: Meeting Community Needs and Maximizing Your Impact, on Thursday, Oct. 29, at noon to help attendees better understand local needs and explore practical ways to make a difference.

“Giving can look different for every person and every business,” said Kim Alvarez, vice president of philanthropy at TFEC. “This webinar will help attendees understand the options available to them and consider how their resources can have a meaningful impact on the causes and communities that matter most.”

Alvarez will be joined by Stefani McAuliffe, vice president of community impact at TFEC. Together, they will share insight into challenges affecting communities across South Central Pennsylvania and opportunities for philanthropy to help address them.

TFEC’s community needs assessments point to issues ranging from housing affordability and food insecurity to economic pressure and access to mental health care. The data offers a glimpse of how these challenges affect communities throughout the region, including working households struggling to afford basic needs and children facing food insecurity and gaps in access to essential services.

With a clearer understanding of community needs, TFEC will help attendees explore ways to put their generosity to work. The webinar will cover donor-advised funds, gifts of appreciated securities, qualified charitable distributions from IRAs and legacy gifts, along with how these options can help donors increase their impact in the communities they care about.

No prior experience with TFEC or an existing charitable fund is required to participate. Please visit the event page to register.
