RE: Harrisburg River Rescue seeking sponsors/donors for June 6^th, 2026 “Safe Waters, Strong Communities” Event

Water and community safety are shared responsibilities. Through awareness, preparation, and community partnership, preventable tragedies can be avoided.

This event is designed to promote water safety and broaden community safety through education, engagement, and prevention. The initiative was inspired by a tragic drowning in the Susquehanna River two years ago, underscoring the urgent need for increased public awareness around water hazards and safe practices.

Our goal is to proactively prevent similar incidents by equipping residents with practical knowledge, safety demonstrations, and access to local emergency resources. By pairing safety education with a welcoming, family-friendly environment, we aim to significantly increase participation and ensure these life-saving messages reach as many people as possible.

The event is designed to reach a broad cross-section of the community, with targeted outreach to:

· Families with children

· Recreational water users (boaters, anglers, swimmers)

· Residents living near rivers and waterways

· Youth and teen populations

· Community organizations and neighborhood groups

We are especially focused on engaging individuals who may not typically seek out safety education, using the event format to bring critical information directly to them.

All sponsorships and donations will be directly invested into event components that maximize attendance and educational impact. Specifically, funds will support:

· Food and refreshments to attract and retain attendees

· Interactive attractions and family-friendly activities to increase turnout

· Water safety demonstrations, including life jacket usage and emergency response education

· Event logistics such as venue & safety equipment

· Educational materials and outreach resources distributed to attendees

This is a direct-impact investment, where increased attendance directly correlates with increased public safety awareness.

Sponsors will receive meaningful visibility and recognition before, during, and after the event such as:

· On-site presence, including the option to host a table or booth to engage directly with attendees

· Verbal recognition during event announcements

This provides both community goodwill and direct engagement with a broad and diverse audience.
